Hit the Nail on the Head!

On Tuesday my daughter was sick so she was home with me. As I was making the beds, and she was following me around (she wasn’t feeling THAT bad anymore), she says to me…

“Mama, do you know why I haven’t been working on many projects lately?”

Now… she’s 5!

So I reply, “No, Baby, why?”

“Because I’ve been watching the Olympics.”

Ding-Ding-Ding. She hit the nail on the head, 100%.

So where have I been, where are my posts… I’m watching the Olympics. I’ll have more to post soon. In the meantime, GO USA!

Gathering New Ideas

This weekend I spent many hours at a local stamping convention, mostly to gather new ideas. While there were many products I loved, none really compared to how coordinated Stampin’ Up’s collection is. The best part of all was checking out the cards and the techniques. I’ve come home each day and worked on templates for the things I like and want to share with you. I’m still working on them so I have no projects to post, but I plan to start posting them soon. Hope you come back to see what neat new ideas I have to share. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Holiday Treat Jar

For Christmas my Secret Sister gave me a holiday treat jar. It’s so simple and so cute; I love it so much that I wanted to share it with you. I can’t give credit where credit is due- not until December, for now she’s just “my Secret Sister”.

This can be used for most any holiday. I’ve “stolen” the idea and made it into a Valentine Treat Jar. This would be a great gift for your husband, friend, kids, or co-worker. It’s simple- a jar, some tissue paper, candy (don’t fill it up), toile ribbon, and holiday themed ribbon. Here’s mine! And I’m going to make little ones in Mason jars for the kids!

Creating Your Own Designer Paper

I love to work with designer paper, the only problem is that it’s not always easy finding paper that coordinates with the paper and ink I already have (if only I had them all!). The current Stampin’ Up catalog makes this easier by listing the exact colors used in their paper assortments, but I want to show you how you can create your own designer paper.

New Demonstrator Starter Kit

Well, it took some time to get the video uploaded, it’s a big file.  Also, in the video I keep talking about how excited I am. Although it doesn’t sound like it, I really was chomping at the bit to get into that box. I’ve be working on some new projects with my new goodies (my daughter was home sick today so that slowed me down), check back for the postings. And… I’m looking forward to hosting a workshop for you in the very new future! Go ahead and book a date before my schedule gets too full.

Stampin’ Up Starter Set

The word is in… and I’ve been tracking my package all the way from Utah… my starter set will be arriving tomorrow! I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am. I’ve also registered for an online account with Stampin’ Up so that all of you can order from my online site. You can do this anytime from stampforfun.com by clicking on the “SU Store” tab or by going to http://griet.stampinup.net. I’ve also set up links to all the current catalogs on the sidebar of this site so that you can quickly browse anytime you want. Come back soon to check out what came in my starter kit box! This will be my first video, I hope I can get it to work.

A Note About the New Masthead

Thanks to my husband, Todd, I have a new page layout with a new masthead.  This masthead was created with Stampin’ Up’s IN colors.  Do you see it?  Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Bermuda Bay (Melon Mambo is also in this family of colors, and a great color, but it didn’t make the cut)!  Cool, huh?  He asked me what colors I wanted and I pulled out my handy-dandy Stampin’ Up Idea Book and Catalog.  Thanks, Sweetie!

Stampin’ Up Demonstrator Update

So yesterday it was a week since all the paperwork was sent in to Stampin’ Up to become a demonstrator.  Apparently it’s very busy around SU these days- if you ever wanted to become a demonstrator now is the time to do it.

Yesterday I received my first email confirming my demonstratorship!  Actually, I was at the park with my kids and my phone goes ding-ding-ding-ding.  I didn’t know what might be going on for me to get FOUR emails all at once, but they were all from Stampin’ Up.  So last night I went on the demonstrator portion of the website… wow!  There is so much stuff there, it will probably take me weeks to get through it all.  But it’s nice to know that SU has taken the time to provide all the training information and support (there’s even a place to practice putting in orders).

So I want you to know I’m working through all this so I can be the best demonstrator possible and provide you guys with the coolest projects and best support.  Now I need your support to get started, book a Stampin’ Up workshop with me!

Signing up as a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator

So just in case you are interested I thought I’d share what I did to become a Stampin’ Up demonstrator. It’s actually quite easy, it took me a while just to decide what alternate products I wanted. I signed up under my demonstrator who doesn’t have a SU website, so we had to do it on paper and fax it in. The forms are on the SU website. I printed them out, and filled out all the easy stuff. Then I went through my list of “like to haves” and tried to match up the prices of what was in the kit to what I really would like to have. I then had to pick my colors for ink and the paper (which is only available in assorted packs, I’d much rather have solid packs). It’s really so easy I feel stupid writing it out!  But now you know, it’s an easy process, any of you could do it.

If you were ever interested in joining as a SU demonstrator now is a great time!  From now until the end of March is Sale-A-Bration.  That means you get a 15% discount on the starter kit plus a free stamp set up to a value of $47.95.

The stamp sets I selected were: One of a Kind, Always, Special Blessings, Simply Thanks, Flower Fancy, Retro Remix wheel, and Jumble Alphabet.

I’m very excited to receive my products, I hope they come this week!  I’ll post everything here when it arrives.
