Today is it for sale-a-bration, so if you want it you better act fast. My favorite sale-a-bration item has been the Whimsical Words stamp set. It’s hard to find versed stamps that I really like, but this one hits the spot. If you are interested in getting in a last minute order and need help- just let me know. Otherwise you’ll have to wait until next January.

I love using things for purposes other than for what they were intended. The XL Two-Step Bird punch is great, but look what else you can do with it…

Perfect Plum cardstock and designer series paper; Green Galore cardstock; Scallop Trim corner and border punch; Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch
Using punched out wings you can make flowers! And the branch is converted to a stem, nice huh? My flowers are meant to be tulips, and I’ve also seen this done to make roses. I really enjoy experimenting with these punches, I wonder what else we can make with the scalloped border?
I put in another sale-a-bration order yesterday, can’t wait for it to arrive. It’s not too late to order and still get some free goodies, but tomorrow is the last day! And remember, you can shop 24/7 from my website- just go to the ‘SU Store’ tab up top.
If you are still interested in putting in an order and getting some great sale-a-bration goodies it’s not too late! There is one week left before this great sale ends, and it won’t be back until next year. In case you haven’t heard about it here’s the low-down… for every $50 in Stampin’ Up products you buy you will receive a gift item of your choice out of the sale-a-bration catalog. I have a link to that catalog on my website so go check it out, there are some great stamp sets in there that you don’t want to miss! I’m planning to place my last order on Sunday (or you can order directly on my website). Don’t miss out on these great deals!
Here is a card made in the shape of a flower pot that will hold 1 or 2 packs of seeds. What a great card for Spring! I made the card using Pumpkin Pie cardstock in the shape of a flower pot (minus the rim) and adhered the edges with “incredibly tacky tape”- I think that’s really what it’s called (it’s incredibly tacky!). That leaves an opening on top to stick your packs of seeds in, make sure you make the pot wide enough for the packs to fit. I then covered the front with designer paper and added the rim with ribbon. The finishing touch was a sentiment using the Well Scripted stamp set.
Here’s a nice wedding card that is simple to make. I used the Bashful Blue and Not Quite Navy color combination to make this card. The heart is from the Always stamp set. The wings are punched from one of the hearts stamped in Bashful Blue on Whisper White cardstock. The birds are punched from Not Quite Navy designer series paper.
Today’s card is an Easter card using the Loads of Love stamp set. This is a great set, and it has a complimenting set (Loads of Love Accessories) that allow you to use it for a variety of occasions. I colored everything with the Stampin’ Pastels using the blender pens. I made the border with the eggs from the ‘load of eggs’ using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. There are some ‘chrome’ elements in the truck, but they don’t show up that well in the photo.
Today’s card is to show you what you can do with scrap pieces of ribbon you have left over from other cards. There isn’t much that I consider trash when it comes to card making and scrap booking. And even small pieces of ribbon have a place in my collection. For this card I used the pieces of scrap ribbon to decorate the front of my card. I think I may have overdone it, but you get the picture!
I really like simple cards, even cards made from a white card base. Here’s another that I’ve made using the Love Bug stamp set. I used the masking technique to make the caterpillar go all the way across the card.
Again, I used the Stampin’ Up pastels with the blender pens- this really is like using markers! To make the paper with the caterpillar “pop” I used a sponge dauber to highlight the background in Pixie Pink (classic ink). The sentiment is from the Whimsical Words stamp set. The ribbon… well, that was a last minute addition and I’d probably leave it off next time.
Where have I been? I really can’t account for all the days I’ve been missing, but most recently I’ve been sick with bronchitis and a fever that peaked at 103.4. Feeling better now, and getting caught up everywhere, so I’m back.
Today is a super cute, super simple little bitty card that can be used as a gift bag card.
I used the whisper white cardstock and the Love Bug and Whimsical words stamp sets. I colored all of this with the pastels using blender pens. I didn’t really know what to do with either of these items, but I’ve found you can use the pastels (which come in every standard Stampin’ Up color) and the blender pens together and you’ve basically got the entire palette of Stampin’ Up colors as markers!
Last time I posted in this category it was for the earthquake in Haiti. Now the earthquake in Chile has the world’s attention with an 8.8 magnitude! I’m not sure the impact compared to Haiti, but obviously the people of Chile need our prayers and support as well. Here are a few ways you can donate by texting (this worked really well for the Haiti cause). Also, I encourage you to find other ways to help- I was able to donate my Hilton points (which I would never use anyway) to the Haiti fund.
For these text donations AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile have agreed to waive the texting fee. If you use a different service, contact your provider to see if they might do the same.
- Text the word “CHILE” to 25383 to donate $10 on behalf of the Habitat for Humanity.
- Text the word “CHILE” to 20222 to donate $10 on behalf of World Vision.
- Text the word “CHILE” to 52000 to donate $10 on behalf of the Salvation Army.
- Text the word “CHILE” to 90999 to donate $10 on behalf of the American Red Cross.
After texting the code be sure to hit “yes” to confirm the donation. The $10 donation will appear on your next cell phone bill.
Update: I got a comment back that the information on the American Red Cross is not correct. I guess I can’t trust my sources (I thought it was quite reputable). See the comment if you want to know more.
